  • Here we go again! This time they are targeting 50 cal weapons. What's next, 45's? It's called incrementalism and they will not stop until all guns are banned. Besides the text of the bill reads 50-cal or larger...don't you black powder guys shoot 54 cal? Call your assemblymen and Senators immediately!

    A-9452, bans the sale, use or possession of 50-calibre or larger weapons and directs the division of state police to embark on a program whereby persons currently in lawful possession of such weapons may be reimbursed for the fair market value thereof upon turning such weapons in to a designated officer.

  • Here is a Bill before Congress H.R.950/S.514. It is committee in the Senate and the House. There are currently 39 sponsors in the House and 3 in the Senate. Write Congressmen Sweeney and urge him to become a sponsor. Unfortunately it will have to be a cold day in hell before either of our Senators would sponsor such a bill but write them anyway. Summary is: Secure Access to Firearms Enhancement (SAFE) Act of 2001 - Amends the Federal criminal code to provide for reciprocity for the carrying of certain concealed firearms in different States by persons who are not prohibited by Federal law from possessing a firearm and who are: (1) carrying a valid State license or permit for carrying a concealed firearm; or (2) otherwise entitled to carry a concealed firearm in their State of residence.

  • (Look! some good news!) A bill which allows for licensed individuals to carry in the city: S02279: Provides that a properly issued license to carry a pistol or revolver is valid throughout the entirety of the state, including the city of New York.
