Ryan Connors

has been competitively shooting since this past winter when he joined the Bucks and Does Archery League at the Sportsman’s Club of Clifton Park. He qualified for the World Championship this past spring at Pete Rickard’s Vegas 450 Tournament that took place at the Empire State Plaza. At the Championship he shot in the 540 tournament.
There were 3 rounds that consisted of 5 sets of 4 arrows. The scoring sequence was 9, 7, 5, 3 and 1 with a maximum score of 540. The 1st round was shot at 20 yards, the 2nd at 30 yards, and the 3rd at 40 yards. Despite not having his bow sighted in for forty yards, Ryan won the championship (cub division) by shooting a 494. The second and third place shooters shot 475 and 435 respectively.

Jim Connors, Ryan's dad, would like to thank the Sportsman’s Club for providing the facilities, the companionship, and the numerous hours spent by volunteers that have made the Club as great as it is. Jim especially thanks Dave Sweeney, Joe Audi and Andy VanCleaf for the superb work that they did with the Bucks and Does Archery League that got Ryan totally interested in and committed to archery.
